Samantha (Sam) Walpole first started her career in the UK, where she studied Equine Science and spent 7 years working in the Horse Racing Industry. She returned to South Africa and worked in the hospitality sector. She continued to pursue her interest in animal behaviour, discovering her true passion in Canines.
Samantha Walpole graduated from the Ethology Academy receiving Best Practice in both the Basic and Advanced Canine course. Samantha went on to become a qualified instructor having studied the Canine Culture Puppy and Adult instructor’s course with Shannon McKay at McKaynine Training Centre.
Samantha is Secretary and Membership facilitator for the Animal Behaviour Consultants of SA. She is a proud member of The Pet Professional Guild and is registered as a full member with the South African Board for Companion Animal Professionals (reg # AB/024). Her main focus is to empower and equip clients with scientifically up to date knowledge and skills to understand and help develop collaborative communication between an owner and their dog. Sam avidly pursues continued education and professional development by attending several workshops and seminars per year and keeping current on all industry literature. Sam is a full time practicing dog behaviourist, runs a social dog walking club, boards’ dogs, and is a qualified dog trainer for McKaynine Training Centre. When she is not assisting clients she enjoys obedience training, Fly Ball and Agility and frequent walks with her dogs and likeminded people.
Samantha has published canine behaviour articles in Animal Talk, Dog Directory and on occasion speaks at educational functions. Sam lives in Fourways with her two dogs Allegro, an Italian Greyhound, Matisse, a Whippet, and Dalai, her Burmese cat.
